Anything found in the Yellow Pages, the government shouldn’t do!

…If politicians are really concerned about homeowners, instead of holding inquisitions and regulating the housing and mortgage industries (which will drive up prices), why don’t they lower our property taxes?  When house values were going up, they surely raised property taxes in a hurry!  Now that our houses are devalued, why are they not lowering our tax assessments just as quickly?

…If politicians are really concerned about high fuel prices, instead of grandstanding and posturing and threatening to smack a windfall profits tax on oil companies (which will drive up prices), why don’t they: (a) allow drilling in ANWR and off-shore; (b) stop the silly subsidy of ethanol; (c) lower the federal taxes on gasoline?
